Plot: At the lowest point of his life, Richie gets a call from his estranged sister, asking him to look after his eleven-year old niece, Sophia, for a few hours.
Cast: Shawn Christensen, Fatima Ptacek, Paul Wesley, Emmy Rossum, Ron Perlman
Review: I found out that the lead actor, Shawn directed the film. Bravo man! Indie film at its finest. I like his approach to this film. It has a balance of themes like drug addiction, suicide, depression mixed with dark humor delivering a powerful message about life and love. It's very unique and very realistic. The storytelling technique is flawless. It transitions between hallucinations and real life. The casting is perfect. Although the film focuses on Richie (Christensen) and Sophia (Ptacek, the dynamic duo, the supporting cast did a wonderful job also. I'm surprised by how Paul Wesley created a very diverse character is such a minimal role. I think he did a fantastic job as Gideon. Who knew he can deliver something like this. Emmy Rossum once again delivered a great performance. Thumbs up. And to Ron Perlman, Mr. Hellboy as well. Thumbs up!
If you love indie films then you need to see this. It's a kind of film where it can get you thinking and appreciate the value of life.
