Plot: A young woman, born at the turn of the 20th century, is rendered ageless after an accident. After many solitary years, she meets a man who complicates the eternal life she has settled into.
Cast: Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Harrison Ford
Review: Do you know the story why Captain America is not aging? Well it's the same with Adaline but in a different way. She is gifted not to worry about having white hair, wrinkles, in short old age. Do you want to be forever young? Adaline suffers the emotional losses of aging. She is forced to survive but not to enjoy life at its finest. She is stuck with the inability to have a stable relationship that goes through a journey from youth to old.
The premise is good and the story is well written. The narrator will basically help you understand the movie better but I think it's better to explain it by showing it rather than telling it. This movie has flaws. A lot. But this was an enjoyable film. I liked it. I like the music. I like how Adaline dresses. Very vintage. The movie visually stunning.
This has got to be the best performance Blake Lively ever showed us. I was never really wowed with her acting chops in some of her other films but in Age of Adaline, she really stepped up her game. She's still not at the A-list top but she impressed me. And also, she's weirdly beautiful. I see it now. Let's talk about her man in the movie, Michiel Huisman. The man is beautiful! You can't deny that they have chemistry. They look good together. And *spoiler* you will be blessed to see Michiel Huisman's glorious body. You have to wait for it. And Harrison Ford, what a guy. He has a commanding presence.
I recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic movie with a twist of fantasy and science.
