Cast: Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones
Review: Stephen Hawking (Redmayne) and Jane Wilde (Jones) met in college and fell in love instantly. Even though they have different beliefs, you can't deny their love for each other. It's just simply magical. They then had to face something very challenging when Stephen was diagnosed with a neurological disorder that destroys him slowly and giving him only two years to live. The rest of the film shows how Stephen and Jane cope with all the struggles and how it affected their relationship.
I adore Stephen Hawking but Jane Wilde is the strongest character I've seen in a film. Having to give up your own desires to support the man you love is something else. The commitment is so strong. She's the provider for a growing family. It's like having the world on her shoulders. Although the subject of infidelity is seen, it is done with such grace that I wouldn't call it as a betrayal. There is a mutual understanding between Stephen and Jane. The love is still there but it's beyond their control their inability to continue the difficult battle.
Eddie Redmayne is absolutely brilliant portraying Stephen Hawking. He definitely deserves an award for this one. He mastered everything from the speaking and the body movements. He presented it perfectly. I can never see anyone playing better Stephen than him. He's definitely one of the best actors out there. While he played Stephen's character brilliantly, Felicity Jones on the other hand captured my heart like she always does in every film she's in. How she played a strong and brave Jane so effortlessly is amazing. She always amazes me with her powerful emotions in a film. She executes it so perfectly. Oh and the chemistry between Eddie and Felicity is insane. Probably my favorite on-screen movie couple ever. The way they hold on to each other, the soft kisses, it's incredible to watch. Thank you director James Marsh.
My most anticipated film of 2014. It's easily one of my favorite movies this year. For that I give this movie a perfect 10. The Theory of Everything is not about science or equations, it's about love. Go watch it!
