Plot: The head of a high school reunion committee travels to Los Angeles to track down the most popular guy from his graduating class and convince him to go to the reunion.
Cast: Jack Black, James Marsden
Review: I'll just say this, James Marsden is 41 years old! He's 41! You sir are winning in life because you are still damn fine! The D Train is a bizarre little film. The title is a little bit misleading. You would think this would be another fun comedy because of Jack Black. That's what I thought after seeing the title, the cast and the plot but there's so much more. It tackles family issues, self-worth and male sexuality. It's a comedy mixed with drama. It's a dramedy. I don't think the movie was meant to be laugh out loud funny but it has its moments. I found myself chuckling with quite a few of them especially this one scene that you wouldn't want to miss! It's surprising! But at times it's saddening to see the protagonist suffer within. Some of it are very depressing so it's kind of leaning into drama. But what I really like about the film is the theme. I found it very important. It's kind of reflecting is some sort of way. I like a movie that offers deep meaning and lessons so not bad. Oh its got a pretty nice soundtrack too. 80's vibe.
Go ahead watch this one. You'll either like it or you won't. But I'm telling you, James Marsden! Hot! Hot!
